Yes!  Proof that bikes play a large role in happiness.

And bikes.  Robin Williams was a huge bike guy as well.

I am taking the position that a higher power looking at our world decided that she needed music, smiling faces, and laughter so she took Dan and Robin Williams this week. It is such a loss to we mere mortals.

Looks as though this weeks Marauders will be detouring. That's in planning.

I'm stunned and completely saddened. Dan was an early and enthusiastic supporter of The Chainlink, and he was an inspiration to me in those early months as he encouraged me to keep going. As time went on I got to know him as a friend, and I learned what a kind and warm-hearted person he was. I'm going to miss seeing his face when I'm back in town.

Dan, thank you for every smile and kind word. You've left a lasting impression on me and countless others, and we will miss you.

Just a heads-up:  Spyner's has live music on Thursday nights in the back room, and two bands booked for 8/21.

Brass Band Festival (2 bands) same night at 7:30pm. I just called.

The brass bands are on one side of the bar, and supposedly end at 9:30pm so that the Karaoke can start on the other side.

Should be fun!

You must be thinking of someplace else, John (Quenchers?) I just called. Spyners opens at 11 and Karaoke starts at 9:30. They're expecting us on the 21st and hadn't heard about Dan. And don't know anything about live bands. I think there's a side room but there's definitely no back room.

I'm still in shock.

I'm going on record to say Dan was an amazing soul and will be missed. He helped me set up the sound system at Bike to Brew, I had seen him at Tour de Fat recently too. He also marked the route, ride marshalled, helped get the party ready and then partied it up. He won our Levi's raffle and he hugged me with a big smile on his face.

While we were setting up the sound a group of young Christian women approached and asked us if we knew Jesus. Dan talked to them about god and his approach to worship. So passionate, personal and inspiring. What an amazing dude! Good thoughts to you and your family, Dan. My next ride's for you.

Is a get together for Dan set for tonight.

Yes, next Thursday, August 21st.  Get ready to do karaoke, one of his favorite hobbies along with biking, sailing, drinking, and socializing.
