I'll be at the fountain at 9:30, possibly with some doughnuts or something.
Feel free to bring breakfast. We'll take off at 10 sharp.

Cruising speed is between 8 and 12 mph. You should be fine on your commuter,
although make sure to at least give it air and oil beforehand. If you get tired you
can always catch CTA or Metra home with your bike.

based upon what i've seen from previous years, it looked like some folks got together for breakfast @ the hollywood diner before the ride...are there any prearranged breakfast plans this year?

oh, and another question for the perimeter veterans - from what i understand, the ride runs from 10am until roughly 2am...but how much of that time is spent on the road vs. stopped @ the various points of interest? i'll definitely be there (you had me @ superdawg), but i'm debating about whether my commuter bike can handle the pace, without a tune-up, first.

Was thinking more like frosty refrescos or something lunch-like depending on the timing.
Looks like I pissed John off and he's not talking to me anymore, though.

SAG is what they call support on organized bike rides. The most accepted (or the least berated, anyways) account of what it originally stood for is "Support and Gear", but there's no definitive answer out there any more.

XV,

I'm guessing he means a trailer with repair parts.

what is a mobile SAG?

What time do you think you'll be hitting Cicero, John?
I could maybe show up with a mobile SAG station depending on the timing (gotta work in the morning).
We'll probably be near Cicero around 5 pm.

OK, I'm leaving to recon a bike route to Milwaukee.
If you have any truly urgent questions for me about the Perimeter Ride,
call me at 312-560-3966. Otherwise see you Saturday!
