The Chainlink

Kind of was expecting coverage of the Perimeter Ride.  I don't have cable, was hoping to watch online.  Anyone got a link to realtime coverage or updates? Thanks.

Time to send out a search party?

Probably everyone is still sleeping. There were a few people who were riding ahead and then setting up to take pictures of everyone as they went by, and a guy with a Gopro on a stick, so I expect some good photos and video to show up online shortly. The quick version: it went well (thank you to the organizers!), and we were able to wait out most of the rain at Argus Brewing and at Original Rainbow Cone. Something like 27 riders were left when we got onto the LFP at Ardmore around 11:30ish. Not sure how many made it downtown, I turned off at Bryn Mawr. I hope everyone made it downtown before the late-night thunderstorm hit--that seemed much heavier than any of the rain we had during the day.

I joined in for a while in the Beverly area. It was great to see everyone, and being able to track the ride on Massup was really helpful. I was texting a few people, so that didn't hurt. I was a little surprised by the uncharacteristic speed of this year's ride - had planned to catch them along the Major Taylor Trail, but they were moving a little too fast for that to happen. Glad I got to hang out with them for a while.

Allright, I've made peace with the lack of realtime coverage for this year's ride.... but next year I want to watch live on my Apple Watch.

There was live ridecasting.  Surprised if you really didn't know.

Now archived at http://massup.us/now/r?d=20140920

Also on Facebook. Multiple people caught up en-route using it.

No, that's why I asked.  Anne already mentioned, thanks. Where was this publicized?

I just dug through 4 pages of comments in the event listing and I see you posting links to various things you have archived but there's no mention of live updates.

On the Facebook event page, the post titled "Ridecasting live!" linked to massup.us and remained on top all day as I added fresh pics.  But not being my event, I didn't push the news much beforehand.  I'm glad to see reiteration that it serves a need.

This was actually the third consecutive year I've ridecast live, and Jera did it the year before that.  One  can assume any ride I'm on is ridecast live (except Marauders).  Welcome to the future.

Videostream's a nice idea, in a few years.

Chainlink is my Facebook.  How hard would it have been to include that link on the chainlink listing? Or, what was your motivation for not doing so?

Combo of didn't occur to me, ran out of time, and prioritizing.  The Perimeter Ride's facebook event and group each have several times more participants than the equivalents here.  The same is true of Critical Mass and others.  Frankly I'm not alone in having found that given finite time, the system with the most users and the least drama comes first.  I look forward to you becoming active there.

I have posted pics.    We had a go pro too.   It's in process...

GoPro editing is in process.

Can't wait.
