Paris Velib

Anyone here have experience using Velib? I plan to buy a one-week pass online before I arrive, but just in case I also have a credit card with a chip (which should work in the docking stations, right?).

Any tips about potential problems would be appreciated.

I think you can also get access to Velib at a Metro station if you buy a Metro card (I don't recall what they're called) - I didn't think of this until after I had already bought a bunch of tickets to use for the days I was there.
