Holy cow - has it been a year since I made the 2012 thread?! Indeed, it has!

Based on the calendar event, it looks like a good amount of people have RSVPd to ride. Even if you haven't, and were looking for some people to ride with, post in this thread.

Which distance will you be riding? And, at which pace are you planning to ride?

I'll be riding the classic century @ a somewhat comfortable pace. After starting this cycling season well, my conditioning is questionable as I have only been on the bike a handful of times since June. Yikes. I'm looking for some people who might want to ride between 13-15 mph average.

The forecast is shaping up to look like it's going to be a great day for riding! I'm sure people remember the weirdo weather last year - much cooler. I remember waking up and heading out @ 5:15AM and it being 39 degrees!

Who's in?

How is that tiny LHT working out for you?

Everything I hoped it would be! Comfortable and efficient.  Some day I hope to actually do some long haul trucking with it, and it will be perfect.  Will miss you and Amanda on Sunday.

I'm aiming to be there and ready to go at 6 sharp for the 100mi. I love the crisp darkness in the early AM and don't often get to ride that time of day. Is anyone else quite familiar with the route or planning to map it on their GPS? I'm not quite sure how to bring along the map - I don't have much to attach it to on my bars, and I only have an iPhone which surely won't last all day running maps.

I'll be riding a gray & blue Cannondale synapse, probably with a small gray w/flower pannier on the back. If you spot me, call out. I'll probably be terribly undercaffeinated and only vaguely aware of what I'm about to ride ;)

MikeF - hope to actually meet you this time!

Julia, the roads will be well marked with arrows , between being able to see other riders and the road markings you should never have to look at the map

Can you keep going and do the 100 if you feel up to it or are you stuck with what you picked when you signed up?  I'll be riding my felt tk3 fixie with white rims and white bar tape.

Yes, do what you feel comfortable. The only restriction is the last start time. If you plan to do 100, there is a fairly early (8:30?) last start time. This is to insure that people are off the course in the later parts of the ride at a reasonable hour.

Yes. If you think of the 100 as a big "O" with the top in Kenosha, the 70 simply gives that "O" a "haircut", flattening it out on top.  The metric century splits off earlier and takes a different path most of the rest of the way as I recall.  The 70 is more of a bailout and just lops some distance off the 100.

Do the 70 and 100 mile routes follow the same path for a significant distance, with a split at some point?

Not sure yet what I'll be riding.  I've had a rash of flats lately, and my collection of ridable tubulars is dwindling a bit.  I'll cobble something together though.  Likely be an my RRB or my Medici, which are both coincidentally rather metallic purple.  A bunch of other vintage folks are riding shorter distances, so I may try to get off early to do the 100, then meet them back at the ranch.  I'll aim for 6am.  Blue/light blue jersey, purple bike.

I will be riding, perhaps with some friends that I rode the Wrigley Field tour with back in 2011.

I'll be wearing a red Nebraska Huskers jersey and a red Bontrager helmet.

Dang, I'd love to do this ride, but the SCCA Runoffs are a siren call seemingly too great to resist. But maybe I find a way to split my weekend....

Hey all, I'm new to Chainlink and I don't have anyone I'm set to ride with.  I'm looking to do the full century or maybe just the 70, I can start in the 6AM hour and could definitely do 16+.  If I could tag along with some folks that would be great.  I'll be the tall guy with the 8-Ball jersey.

Thanks I was hoping that was the case I guess I will figure out if I will do 100 or 70 when i get to the turn around point.  I might bring my little jambox to play some tunes so if you hear music its probably me.
