A good bud recommended joining this site, and it does look real real
For now I just want as many folk as possible to be on the lookout for this bike:

It's a very recognizable bike, and it could be anywhere. I feel like it will be tough for whoever has it to hide or sell easily, so thanks for any help!

rwein5 - I say give him a break. He crashed, didn't feel comfortable around there, left and now he also lost his bike.
Lots of vacant buildings and covered up windows around there right now make the place look deserted and unfriendly.

Damen & Diversey a bad neighborhood? Because there is section 8 housing? Very interesting.
rwein and Julie, I appreciate the critical approach and the support. That's a good thing about forums. Instead of going on and on defending myself, I'll just say that I am very familiar with that particular area. My reaction wasn't baseless.

I always heard the North side was considered safe.
No, because it is somewhere people get pushed off of their bikes and attacked from time to time.

That location is about 2 blocks from the Family Matters house, which means you're in grave danger of being annoyed by Steve Urkel in that neighborhood.

I was mugged at Irving Park & Damen a few years ago, which is pretty far north (I mean, the neighborhood is North Center). Learned really quick that ANYTHING can happen ANYWHERE. Experiencing that taught me how to be more aware, and also allowed me to be more adventurous and explore more of the city because the whole 'stay in this safe area' notion was broken.
As for the intersection at Damen & Diversey, I've had more of an issue with potholes then I have with people.
Or seduced by "Stefan Urkel"!
Seriously, I run through that area quite often. It's no more dangerous than any of the other pockets in any of the neighborhoods we all live in.

As much as I love to gush over arcane TV history, this discussion has strayed rather far afield.
Has anybody even looked at the picture of the bike in question? It's gotta be out there somewhere... now bring on the comments about American Tail.
Danny, perhaps you can post a reward for the safe return of the bike? It could help get it back.
Because it's not enough that many owners make bike theft extremely easy. They should also make bike theft easier to profit from...

Will chainlink 2.0 give the admins an improved ability to spot Eric Vann's fake personae?
Because this crap is getting VERY old.
