Chicago Bike Sellers Facebook Group
Super shady, the prices are all WAY to low for most of the stuff to be legit.

Maybe you can add this to your post for things to do when your bike gets stolen?

I don't do Facebook and have not looked at this page (login only), but here's a report just received of someone finding their stolen bike on this Facebook group.

Is someone going to do something about it?
Called CPD. they want nothing to do with it. said call the FCC.
reached out to FCC, they wanted a $25 fee to register a complaint.
called FBI, they said it was a chicago police matter.
i was given the number that i first called to start the cycle again...
was eventually given a number to my local detectives office. which was wrong local office. to echo what Cam was saying, no victim, no crime was their response. i reminded people were openly admitting theft and some of these items might be able to be cross referenced to theft reports or the CSBR. the detectives sighed, said "yeah, we dont deal with that. but let me get your name and number and see if anyone wants to look into that".
so yeah...
Just mention they're supporting terrorism or drugs.

The FCC would fine Facebook for hosting it, but not go after the real problem. The FBI won't touch it unless there's drugs or an interstate component. The best chance of something more than an occasional victim making a move like the CSBR recovery story would be if a suburban victim found their bike there and suburban department took an interest in a larger investigation like the one that brought down Kenny.
what are you looking for in regard to the recovered bike?
ah. yeah. but there has to be an actual existing active theft claim. that one was solved. they just dont care otherwise. i would have to be a victim calling in a report of my stolen property for them to take action. detectives own words. and the cop i spoke with said "for all we know, they are a site in canada". he was the one that said to call the FCC
H, can you help me get a police report number for the recovered bike?
