Jonathan and I had a killer ride to Pilsen for an "Eat to Ride" excursion. We departed the totem pole around 12:20 PM and made our way down the lakefront path and a bit through downtown, swinging west on 18th to arrive at an unfortunately CLOSED Honky Tonk BBQ. And to add insult to injury, one of the owners invited us inside and it smelled FANTASTIC. It turns out that they're closed Sunday and Monday, and don't open until 4 anyway.

So we ended up going to Taqueria Casa Del Pueblo that was pretty much around the corner on Blue Island. Wow. Stellar food. I had some pork with some rice and beans, with some fantastic salsa/Pico De Gallo and maiz tortillas. I want to go back NOW! :-)

So Jonathan and I hung there for a bit and then wheeled it back north, ending up at Performance on Halsted and Diversey. I had to then meander over to Guitar Center to score a rectifier tube (which unfortunately didn't solve my damn amp issue), ending a kickass Eat to Ride excursion!

Many thanks to Jonathan for suggesting a nice jaunt down to Pilsen!

Honky Tonk BBQ is excellent. you should definitely make the trip down South again (when they're open!)
