Kinzie ribbon cutting, next bike lane, impressive new stats

Today on Grid Chicago: a write-up of yesterday's ribbon cutting ceremony
for the Kinzie protected bike lane, where CDOT Commissioner Gabe Klein
announced the location of Chicago's next cycle track and rolled out some impressive
new bike count statistics, to the soundtrack of a freaky marching band.

Keep moving forward,

I believe someone did point out the Commissioner's bike at the event. On the other hand, you'd have to be pretty careful in order to bike in a white suit on a bike without a chain guard and not get a smudge. Kind of like how Whistler painted in a white suit.

Jackson:

Sometimes I get tired of having to do all the investigation. I'd appreciate a culture at CDOT where information is released as it is known and created at CDOT. I heard of the location about four weeks ago from at least three sources. I'm not really excited about it... I prefer one of these locations.

Biking in a suit:

Not sure if this happened. I think Gabe rode to Bike To Work Rally, but he was wearing a t-shirt and basketball shorts.

I look forward to reading your analysis of the Jackson Blvd project.

Did our CDOT Commish ride to the event on his bike in a white suit?! I think I'm going to start an official Gabe Klein fan club.
