Wow, this thread got really weird. So I don't know if this answers the question exactly -- but I replace most of my shop tools every year, and therefore in fact do technically sell used tools. I generally do it around this time of year -- and I know some other shops do, too (though typically sell to employees or regular customers first). I replace all allen keys, most wrenches, as well as things that wear such as cable cutters. I use a mix of Pedros, Park, and Hozan.

And the funniest thing about it? Cone wrenches and my SR2 are among the pile of things that I'm getting rid of.
Just take your bike to West Town Bikes. You can use their repair area (shop stands and all the tools you could ever want) for free or a small donation.
great place.

However, I have my own basement and my own tools......I'm slowly turning my basement into a mini bike building shop....i just need to replace some shitty tools.

Just a small, polite suggestion: next time try posting a "WTB:" (Want To Buy) listing either in general threads, Chainlink marketplace and/or craigslist. My opinion on what went awry here was an implied (probably not intended) request for hidden "insider" knowledge which simply does not exist. That, or just trying to be too cheap (my own personal prejudice). My viewpoint is that the professional, long-enduring tools in the Park line (i.e. SR-2) are an incredible value already.
Excellent suggestion. I think that's a great idea for anything bike-related that you're looking to buy.
