I rode in to work today, and now I'm thinking I might have to bus it half the way home.  I live about 7 miles from my office which really isn't bad, but man it is hot out there.  I was just wondering if I'm the only one considering wussing out.

As a heavy ex smoker ( 3 packs a day) I was amazed that I felt no consequence during the "ozone action days". I actually felt very strong during my morning rides....The healing properties of the human body is truly amazing.

The other day I was on Irvingpark heading west and the sun was brutal. I know it could have been worse and I was actually concerned I would drink too much water. At one point I noticed that my arm was dry and had goose bumps even though it was very hot out...I got worried. One thing I noticed too...when stopped at a light and standing up off the seat, it gets hot fast.

But to answer the question...Yes, I take the heat advisories serious.

I was just out riding around for 5 hours with a buyer doing a property tour and am happy I am back home in AC.

May head to the pool soon!

I was so hot at around 3:00. I've been out all day. It's cooling off now, finally.

Um. I saw a woman wearing tights yesterday. It wasn't like it was a woman wearing panty hose to work because they're required. Her dress was a sundress and the tights were boldly patterned in black and white. They were not particularly thin, either. Ew.

It was great! Just got home, now I'm dripping in sweat. Ppl can't drive for crap

had a great 15 mile commute home, consumed 4 bottles of water/Nuun and beat the rain in Skokie too.

Left the loop at about 4:30.  The ride along the lakefront was pleasant.  A breeze out of the northwest.  Of course, I was the one going about 6 mph!

The rain shower on the way home felt awesome!!!!

rain????  I heard thunder.  I'm indoors typing away.

Yup right around 6:15.  I got a nice soaking for about the last 5 minutes of my ride home!

I left work at 3:30, and made the mistake of gunning it on the way home, with those westerly winds and all. I paid the price as I came to my first stoplight - I felt like my body was on fire with the heat I was generating plus the already hot weather. Once I got home, I took a look at the thermostat (which read 97 degrees in my apartment) hopped into an ice cold shower, and had a couple PBRs to cool down. Picked my wife up from work and we went straight to Osterman beach for the evening. Thank goodness for the lake.

I spent my childhood and young adulthood in the tropics and then the south, so I've gotten used to hot, muggy weather, even if I've been in the midwest for a while now. So while it's sticky, it's no problem for me. I do drink lots of fluids. And I do heat-soak when I stop, like every other human. That rain shower at ~6PM on my way home sure felt good!
