The Chainlink

Hi everyone!

I'm riding 300 miles in four days from Grand Rapids to Chicago in early September as a cyclist in the Climate Ride Midwest. Why you ask? Because I want to support sustainable and active transportation, environmental protection, and harness the power of the bike to create jobs, access healthcare and education in Chicago and abroad. The story about my ride can be found here.

The catch...I've never done anything like this before. My road bike is old and heavy. I don't own much gear. But, I'm excited and determined. I've spoken with some seasoned multi-day riders and they suggest getting bike shoes. A new friend lent me her pedals and spikes, but I'm in need of shoes and can't afford new ones.

Does anyone have a size 8.5 or 9 in women's bike shoes that are collecting dust in the closet? I can certainly pay for a used pair, or maybe even barter for a free yoga session (I'm a new teacher).

Thanks for reading, and contact me if interested!
