I've seen many accidents at that intersection over the years. I'm sorry that you're the latest victim.
and...you filed a police report, yes?
I learned the hard way to fill out a police report.  Glad you are ok.
I hope they catch the driver and s/he goes to jail. Fugger.

Carly, the ATA has a monthly Crash Support Group that actually meets tonight:

Next one looks to be August 24th.

It's too late to do anything if you have a Tumblr up, as that's cached, but just so people know, any lawyer will tell you that it's a really, really, really bad idea to post anything at all online about an accident past "Can you recommend a lawyer who's experienced in dealing with cyclists?" or "For reasons I don't want to get into, I'm looking for a black Model T that was around Wabash and Jackson at 8:45 this morning."
I hope your bike left marks on that piece of poop's car.

+1!

Nobody can be 100% consistant with even the truest of stories 100% of the time.

With each retelling there are slight differneces in the words used and with English being a slippery language a really good lawyer can pick apart everything someone says at different points and make it look like a person is lying or changing their story even if they are telling the gods-honest truth and being very careful of what they say.

Talking about such things that might end up in court as evidence either for or against you is always a bad idea.   A good lawyer (i.e. a skilled one so let's leave good/evil out of it) can rip apart the words of even the most honest and forthright citizen and make them out to be a wicked liar who is out to scam the system.  Don't give them more words to play with and keep your mouth shut.

That's how justice works in this country.  It's even worse in other countries so we at least have that to be proud of...

Please call our Crash Support Hotline, hopefully we can help (and so sorry to hear about the crash)!
