I did not ride today.  Three days of riding in the cold took got to be a bit much...didn't mind the am ride but battling at night was something. Hoping for warmer days...

I'm getting a bit tired of this extreme cold, but I'm still out there riding! The alternative is standing in the cold waiting for overcrowded buses, or walking 15 minutes to the 'L'. I'll take biking over that any day.

FINALLY! A decent snow ride.  Was encouraging to see many bike tracks on my way in this morning.

Much warmer than the rest of the week.

I made it. I think I was overly cautious since it's been so long. I went super slow. It was so nice to see the Dearborn PBL used as a duping ground for the sidewalks snow...

That wouldn't surprise me.

Am I hearing that there was no removal of snow in the Dearborn lane? Can we get some documentation of this?

That was my experience... It was the block around the Chase tower that thought it a good plan to dump the snow in foot deep piles in the PBL. I should have got a picture!!

I have to be in the western burbs this afternoon and had to drive in to the loop this morning. I took Lake Shore Drive as the Kennedy was reported to be a mess. I looked wistfully at a rider on the LFP proceeding with a high cadence. He had a yellow safety vest and a pannier. I saw him a few times going roughly the same speed on a bike as I was in a car.  Later, I walked out of a parking garage and saw the same guy pedal past me on Wells St.  He seemed to have a nice ride in.  (sigh).  I'm going out tomorrow!

Glad you rode today, Gene.  It really was pretty out.  Looks like the LFP was reasonably well cleared--better than the streets.

Northwest side was not clear at all, I had a few slips just riding to the metra.  Bummed I won't hit 500 miles this month

There was no removal of snow on Dearborn. A Baci Cafe truck was using the lane for a waiting zone just south of Wacker. The block north of the Chase tower was dumping snow/salt/slush into the lane. (May have also been others.)

Overall, still glad I rode rather than taking the El.
