Picture from the Wells St bridge looking east about 6:45 this morning:

A few minutes ago I noticed this on my Android phone's screen. Has anyone heard of the Lakefront Trail referred to as "U.S. Bicycle Rte 37" before? Of course, Wikipedia has a relevant entry.

The Wells st. picture is great. It must have been almost invisible when you started. I rode off at 5:50 and am a couple miles west of you but I could not see to the end of my block.

nice photos as usual.  like the little dash of red in the last one.

I'm finally back to my 6.6 route from uptown to e-town.  It felt like putting my old comfy shoes back on my feet.  aaaaaahhh...

Gene, the last few weeks of images have been amazing. Thank you.

"The National Weather Service is warning that an approaching cold front could produce wind gusts of 70 mph or greater and "possibly a tornado" as it collides with the steamy air over the Chicago area. There could be hail up to 2 inches in diameter and "torrential rain."" link

Might be a good idea to ride that old heavy clunker tonight. Also, get as aero as possible during the 70 mph gusts. Good Luck!

(or maybe stay home)

Holy crappola that evening ride was soaktastic! Dang. Hope everyone made it ok or took PT.

Sitting at the light in the Dearborn protected bike lane this morning and I get a "Nice bike!" from Rahm Emmanuel. Thank you for the compliment and the PBL!

I have an 80's era Specialized Expedition touring bike with low rider front racks and shiny ss fenders.

Ah, so Rahm is a "man of steel"... Either that, or he was dazzled by the sunlight reflecting off the fenders. :-)
