GOT PARTS? Open call for vendor tables at the February 6 Bike Winter Swap and Urban Bike Expo

This Winter, Chicago Bike Winter is presenting the first annual Bike Winter Swap Meet and Urban Bicycle Expo on Saturday February 6, 2010 at Jak's Tap at 901 West Jackson Boulevard in Chicago's West Loop.

Individuals, clubs, non-profits, frame-builders, powder coaters, stores and shops, and bike fiends and friends of every flavor are welcome and encouraged to rent a table. It's cheap, it's fun and it goes to a good cause....keeping Chicagoans on their bikes year-round. Something you don't need or have too many of may be just the ticket for someone else's build. You win, they win, Bike Winter wins, the people of Chicago win, etc.

Here is the price structure:

Non-profit groups including bike clubs, locally based Individuals or companies with 3 or less employees - $25
Locally based companies with 4 to 12 employees - $50
All other companies and individuals - $100

To rent a table please send an email to expo@bikewinter.org and we will get you signed up.

Thanks and look forward to seeing you all there.

Chicago Cycling Club will be there. Thanks to Lee, Howard, and everyone who's putting this event together.
Brian, that seems like a pretty good idea. I could see a lot of people having a bunch of stuff from their various bikes and bike endeavors, but maybe not enough to command a whole table all day. I like the idea of a few folks teaming up to do this. That's neat and if anything adds to the swap nature imho.

It promotes some bike love by passing on your stuff to someone who can use it, clears your place of parts, and if there is stuff you don't want to, or can't sell, you could always donate it to the auction table near the end of the day.

My motto is, someone will always pay a dollar for a seat post. Well, a quarter anyway.

Cheers - Lee
I know of at least one other vendor table doing just this Brian, so it is certainly possible. Just need to find one or two others willing to go in together. Anne....look forward to seeing you there!

Cheers - Lee

I don't really have enough stuff to command a whole table. If it is okay, I would be up for sharing a table with other people and splitting the cost. I have some bike stuff around here that I don't use anymore and I'd love to find another home for it. Reply here, I guess, if anybody is interested and we can take it from there.
Yes, sharing tables, very cool-- just make sure you bounce this thread to the top and post to a bunch of e-mail lists if you're looking for a partner :-)

FYI Payton mentioned he has a box of stuff if anyone wants to pick it up to sell at the expo-- see his comment on the event page comment wall.
Word up to Ross Felten for another great poster! Sweet work Ross. Thanks!
Redone poster is....uh..posted.
Hey all, less than 4 weeks until the expo, just a heads-up that there are still tables available-- doubling up is cool if you don't have enough stuff to justify your own table.
Still missing some of the shops, clubs, and organizations everyone wants to see out there-- you know who you are!

Bikewinter Swap Meet and Urban Bicycle Expo
so excited!
3 weeks out, still tables left. Drop a line to expo@bikewinter.org to reserve.

A request to all-- we're using the chainlink as the main event listing place; expecting hundreds of attendees but a bit worried that the RSVP pane may be working against us (someone checking out the event and trying to determine whether it's worth their while to purchase table space might get the impression only 30 people are attending)-- would appreciate if anyone and everyone who might attend would RSVP. Thanks!
I am willing share a table, volunteer, and even go for a beer run !

Thanks, Daniel!
Sorry I lost you Friday-- gotta get your digits in my cellie. Hope you knocked 'em dead.
Got a lot of communications to track to keep things organized for the swap/expo, and multiple avenues are too much for my little brain, so if you'd be so kind please take your offer/interest over to e-mail and drop a line to expo@bikewinter.org.
Thanks!
-h
