The Chainlink

Hello,

My husband and I have been riding road bikes for about a year now and are having issues with dogs. In an effort to keep us safe we have developed a product for bicycle riders and need the opinions of others in the cycling community. If you have a moment to help us with your thoughts please click on this link:

The link will take you to a zoomerang survey, but you will not be asked to enter any of your personal information, we just need your thoughts and opinions.

For any who choose to help us out, We Thank You!

Sincerely,
Leah

I got chased by a little toy dog on the LFP last year. The dog was hanging out with his/her/its owner just as I passed McCormick place northbound. Dog sees me, and our eyes lock. Dog thinks of him/her/itself as a big, vicious dog. Dog bolts toward me which totally takes me by surprise. Dog manages to keep up for a little while at 20mph. I was afraid of hurting the dog, and I couldn't breathe because I was laughing so hard while trying to go faster.

But anyway, at another time, when doing some loaded touring going 6mph uphill into a headwind I was dogbait. Aren't there already products for this? And let's not forget bear repellent!
I envision a high-powered directional electromagnetic device that disables the car's onboard electronics. Might have to trailer it behind you hehe.

Hi Leah,
Probably not much interest in this mysterious product here in Chicago, as dogs is typically a topic in rural cycling communities, but if you come out with a similar device that will repel cars please let us know immediately. Particularly something key-chain sized, or at least easily detachable from its mount.
Thanks!
Those anklebiter dogs can surprise you, and not in a good way.
