Do you train indoors in the winter? Do you ride a trainer or rollers?

I do two PWP (cycling training) classes a week and try to fit in spin classes when I can. It definitely gets very hot when I ride on a trainer.

Bicycling Magazine has tips on how to keep cool when training indoors.

Kinetic trainer! Smooth and quiet! It's set up in my basement so it's nice and cool for me and I keep a fan nearby too....just in case. I have an iPad holder on my handle bars....made by BiKase and I love it. I may watch some great videos or movies soon but for now I just enjoy my music!

I love my trainer. A fan usually does the trick for me if I am in the basement. My only challenge is getting bored when I'm at home logging miles.

After seeing this video by Vanessa with BFF Bikes, I really want to master rollers. She makes indoor training look like a lot more fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClzQRqQ3dkE

That was fun to make. I need to do another one though.. Maybe NEXT winter

I spin in the winter. Do I enjoy it? Meh. I mainly do it to keep the deeply discounted rate on my gym membership so that I can use it in the summer to shower before getting to work.

Now that is tuff action.

I keep the heat off in my apartment all day, and only turn it on when I get home from work.  Then the temp. is in the low 50's, which is perfect for riding on the trainer.  What's also perfect is that riding the trainer is the only way to stay warm, so I'm not tempted to skip riding.  Only after pedaling through an episode of Boardwalk Empire is the apartment warm enough to do something else!

I do my warm up and cool downs on the rollers, and the hard work on either a computrainer, or my cyclo ops trainer.  I find it helps mix up the work out and both have their own benefits

I love it! Where can I get fans to come cheer me on while on my trainer?

Best indoor training routine I've seen:

Yasmeen, we should add some of those features to PWP.  Fans w/ signs, feed stations, etc.  And especially the tinfoil trophy at the end.

Love the idea! Brett asked me if I wanted him to wrap the blender in tinfoil and I said, "YES please!"

It's the little things.

I don't ride as often as I should.  But I still try to get a ride in on the weekends on Blue.
I tried doing trainers and spin classes but no good.
Rather be out doing miles than stationary ;)

Ohh and this is Blue ;)
