Came across this link this evening, I do not even know what to think, this gal in the link below... just, wow.

Looks like CBS is doing a series of people talking about why their cars are so great & in my opinion, looks awful. I poked around the website and couldn't find any reasoning for the series or an actual article on it.

Wonder if they are taking submissions for bicyclists to 'defend our rides'. I doubt it.

WOW,
I threw my .02 in the comments, but seriously.. Wow, I'm kinda glad I went to UIC.
The brain damage she suffers is evident in her responses.
Look, I don't know this girl, so I won't go out of my way to attack her or call her names, but that Q&A just made me feel embarrassed for her. She says Chicago has too much traffic, but she drives to a university two blocks from a major public transportation hub. She listens to Kesha. That should be enough right there.
The only redeeming thing about that feature was Justyna's comment. Way to take the high road Rapid Transit!
Another part of the problem, not the solution.
Methinks the bleach has been seeping into her pwetty widdle head. OMG LOL!
Does anyone have a contact at CBS to find out why they are even doing such a series???
HOw about the call out on this one, "I'm terrified of anything on two wheels."
There's probably not going to be a lot of cyclist input because I'm guessing we don't feel defensive about our rides. The premise of the piece and the title imply there's something wrong with driving, like this idea has managed to become pervasive enough that they would even bother approaching pro-driving from this angle. Consequently this segment actually makes me feel pretty good about the Things.
+1

Thanks Megan, for this impromptu piece of comedy. I had a good laugh!
She's all of what, 21 years old and has already been in "a couple of really bad accidents", including totalling a car? How did we reach the point in our culture in which that's not completely outrageous? Yeesh.
This is embarrassingly revealing, but I totalled our family car my first time out, at age 16, on a learner's permit. I also totalled our other family car at age 19 without even being in it (left it in neutral in the parking lot at work while I went inside to ask if someone could jump-start my dead battery and it rolled across the parking lot and down the hill at the end). No pedestrians or bystanders injured on either occasion--both collisions involved hitting trees.
However, I do think that is completely outrageous and I haven't owned a car in 25 years.
