I know a few couples that can really rock a tandem. It's just amazing to watch that kind of team effort take place. If Brett came home with a tandem for V's Day, I would not only think he needs his head examined (he's not a fan of tandems either), I would be really bummed his budget was $3,795 and instead of that Focus carbon road bike I dream of, he got a tandem. Clearly, I am most definitely not the target demographic for tandem bikes or tandem kayaks for that matter. I like to steer my own ship.
Looking at this Bicycling Magazine gift guide, I pretty much didn't connect with any of the gift selections offered, especially the pink socks and the needy pink t-shirt. Does that make me a Valentine's day bike grinch? I suppose the mug and the cat and dog on a bike card are pretty cute. I'm just not super smooshy. The best V's Day present I got was a Brooks Saddle. That's what I call romantic - beauty and comfort all in one.
So how about you? What are your ideal gifts you'd like to receive or the best gift you received? Or, just for grins, share the worst bike-related pink-flavored V's Day gift that makes your stomach turn (and NOT in the good way).
