The Chainlink

My co-worker's friend was riding on Kedzie early-ish this morning, around 6 AM, and next thing she knew, she woke up in the hospital. She was clipped by a car, and suffered at least one fracture on her face, not sure about other injuries, and no other information.

Be careful out there.

Very sad. I hope for the best. Do you know where on Kedzie she was riding? There's a large section of Kedzie that has a bike lane.

I have no details about the location, except it was Kedzie either on or very close to the square.

Sorry to hear it.  I hope she's able to make a good recovery.

+1.

BTW - Be sure to let her know about ATA's crash-support hotline; and tips for after a crash.

Hope it isn't too serious.

I'm interested to hear what section of Kedzie as well.  From Logan going south to Palmer there are side streets that, while aren't in very good shape, are MUCH safer than riding on the main road.  The Bike lanes that were added south of palmer down to North Avenue really aren't much better and pretty much turned a two lane road into a 1 lane+ bike lane road, though, quite a few people still try to use both lanes in their car, especially passing someone who is turning left.
