Chicago Cyclist [and Chainlinker] Prepares for 4,300-Mile Journey Across the United States

Chicago Cyclist Prepares for 4,300-Mile Journey Across the United States

Jaik Smith is unfazed by an upcoming challenge to ride his bicycle about 4,300 miles diagonally across the United States.

Rather, the Logan Square resident is pumped to pump the pedals of his Specialized Awol X Poler bicycle from Seattle to Key West starting July 27. He's hoping to finish in 48 days and raise at least $5,000 for the Livestrong cancer foundation started by Lance Armstrong.

Thanks for posting!

Jaik told his story on The Chainlink last week: http://www.thechainlink.org/page/chainlinker-jaik-smith-set-to-ride...

DNAInfo picked up the story. I'm so glad they did - Jaik can use our help raising money for cancer research.

Jaik, good luck, Godspeed, ride safe and enjoy your journey.
See you back in Chicago !

Hey Everyone! I'm very excited to begin and have received so many positive comments from everyone. I'll be posting regularly on my site if anyone is interested in following. It's the ride of a lifetime!
