We are planning on biking from Buckingham fountain to 3Floyds brewery this Saturday.  Does anyonehave a route or map we can use for our trip?

After 3Floyds we will head to Flossmoor brewery then take the train back.

Thanks!

If you can keep up, these guys are doing the same thing:

Be aware, there is often a wait.

Thanks for the links!  Wont be able to meet with the other group...we are meeting at the fountain at 10:30

Thanks again

This could be useful, it is a heat map for streets based on Strava tracking.  I have found that it gives a pretty good indication of good bike streets by comparing what I know to what I see on the heat map:

Max, that is helpful indeed. Note though that as Paul says in the "More Info" link:

This page does not show a uniform representation of where people ride. The map represents rides that have been Race Shaped. Entire rides are downloaded during the process and are then used to make this heatmap.

So, you're only seeing rides that fairly competitive road guys have uploaded. It definitely still a good tool, but it's hard to quantify the bias it might have.

Also, Paul Mach is kinda a hero of mine, glad to see his stuff up here.

Sounds like fun if it's not raining. Will these 3Floyds happen more regularly?

Three Floyds has been on my list of ride destinations pretty much since I first tasted one of their beers. This wait business... I'm usually entirely reluctant to wait to get into an establishment. I'd hate to ride there for two hours or whatever and then have to wait. Are there lines all the time? Even during the day? Anyone been there on a weekday and had to wait?    thanks!

I hear you, though I imagine those guys would be out more than most and find pretty good routes.  But like with google maps, trail link, etc. I try to get as much info as possible.

I've ridden from downtown to Three Floyds. You can take the lake Front Path to the end at South Shore Country Club, then South Shore to I believe 100th or 104th St. You'll pick up Indianapolis going Southeast for about 4 blocks, then you can take the Burnham bike path.I'm not sure what street I took South from where the Burnham Greenway ended but Google Maps says Wolf Road. I took Brainard in Hegewish and took that straight into Hammond, turning South to get Munster. I found the streets in Hammond to be good for riding and led me straight to Three Floyds. Google Maps says to stay on Burnham Ave. Not sure what that street is like. Sorry for the fuzziness in the particulars of these directions. I DID make it to 3 Floyds after all.

What I am certain is the route from 3 floyds to Flossmoor Brewing. The Google bike map for that is spot on with the one exception I would make would be  to not ride Dixie Highway from 187th to Flossmoor Rd. It's more relaxing to go two blocks south on Dixie (There will be a restaurant called The Cottage on Dixie.)Take Vardon east. The street will end at Western Ave. Aptly named Western Ave. School is right there. Passing the school is Flossmoor Park with a path that ends at Flossmoor Station. Hope you enjoy! The beer and food is great at both. I recommend the Pullman ale at Flossmoor.Cheers!   Pete

On Weekends there is already a line at opening time (noon).  It sometimes clears out, sometimes not.

I suggest asking Robert (the leader of the Step Rides) for better info, he goes there quite a bit.
