You go, BoJo!

Whatever you may think of his conservative (yes - conservative!) allegience, you have to take your hat off to BoJo's very proactive cycling policy. I understand cycling as a means of getting about in London has increased exponentially in the last several years. A lot of the credit goes to the politicians who enable cycling by creating cycle lanes and amenities on a comprehensive basis. They listened.

I'd love to think Chicago could do the same.....

If only Hizzoner, Mayor Daley, who says he's into cycling, did his daily commute by bike. Oh well, I can always dream.....

169% alpha move.

Obama would have offered them milk and cookies and asked them to share their feeling about growing up in council housing.
Great story to read. As far as politics go, it is worth pointing out that European conservative parties are more like US Democrats than US Republicans.

David
Daily is a Lazy - Fat - corrupt and mostly inane mayor. Don't get me wrong, I do kinda like him.
Sounds like Milwaukee's own mayor, Tom Barrett, This past August, even though he wasn't on a bike at the time, he stepped in to a domestic dispute outside State Fair Park in West Allis, and the man beating his wife picked up a tire iron and came after Barrett. Mayor Barrett got a few teeth knocked out and a seriously injured right hand which is still being treated. Both these mayors seem to be cut from the same cloth.
I remember when Boris went on the awesome BBC car show Top Gear, he specifically mentioned cyclists and cycling and how the cars and traffic must change to accommodate them better.
