blue lawns of Beverly
Longwood Drive from 98th to 107th or so has lots of beauties. There are two good ones at 99th & Longwood. The city even responded to my 311 requests and filled many of the potholes that were plaguing this part of Longwood. No April Fool's joke - fewer potholes. The 9800 and 9900 blocks of Winchester have great views, too.
The spring scenery is a great excuse to ride on the south side.

They're getting started again. In a few more days, 99th & Longwood should be spectacular again. Yeah, spring!

It's a glorious day to be riding in Beverly. Went all this afternoon and saw all these lovelies, some in north Beverly around 93rd & Pleasant, some at 99th & Longwood.

It's a beautiful neighborhood at any time of year, and one of the city's most bike friendly 'hoods.
The Brit version of Beverley sounds like a lovely place to ride, and definitely a bit older. Haven't been there yet.

It too was a picturesque spot in the country and oft frequented by cyclists - I have memories of riding out there when I was around 11.
That was a while back...
Must complete my cycling education and ride through this slightly younger version some time ;) Have already been to that neat bike shop in Beverly.

They're starting. I found the first buds in my lawn this morning. Our bluest lawns should be beautiful in another week or two. Here are a couple of my favorites from last spring. These are actually in Morgan Park, on Prospect near 111th.

It's starting! Spotted the first blooming scilla a few days ago. Daffodils are popping.
BTW, if anyone's looking for a real estate bargain on a beautiful street, the multi-colored house in the post above is on the market.

It's starting a bit later this year due to colder weather. Started seeing the first scilla (little blue flowers) a few days ago and spotted my first daffodils yesterday. By the weekend, it should be really good.
The picture above is from 99th and Longwood yesterday morning.

Blue lawns are at their peak now. Daffodils and forsythias are blooming. Tulips and magnolias are just getting started. If you're looking for a scenic place to ride this weekend, the locations mentioned here (and many other spots nearby) are looking great. Should be even better after yesterday's rain.
