Interesting idea from Japan.  I could see one of these near the Board of Trade/LaSalle St. station and another one or two near Union and Ogilvie stations.

just the ramp along the down side of the staircase and the grooved conveyor belt on the up-side might be a great start for Metra, el and Amtrak stations.

I think that stairway ramps should be added to all El stations that don't have elevators. That would be a HUGE boost in accessibility.
