The more things change, the more they stay...real fu¢#in' stupid.*

*apologies to Chris Rock
The bike had brakes, but the rider was not paying attention to what he was doing and was apparently fumbling with his delivery list. I agree with Dug, the guy is a moron and jerk. He didn't even apologize for plowing the guy down. It's guys like this that reflect poorly on all cyclists.
Yep, and it's STILL funny. God people around here are a bunch of nits. And I think Jimmy Kimmel's audience just did PROVE it was funny, so relax people.

Hey all, the video from youtube was discussed on this thread as well.
Unexpectedly civil.
The original YouTube video, which has been deleted by it's poster, likely the 'filmmaker' himself, did not make any mention of the rider being a messenger. It was titled 'biker hits old man' or some such thing.

I wonder how Mr. Kimmel arrived at that conclusion...
you ever heard of "look both ways before you cross the street." the kid was obviously filming and not fumbling with a manifest. and if you all think thats riding like an ass hole please stay out of thew loop during working hours.
Wow. I didn't think anyone could possibly defend this guy.

It was a one way street. Why would the pedestrian look for traffic traveling the wrong way?

The ped was out in the street for a long time... well before the cyclist yelped in surprise. The cyclist wasn't paying attention, slammed in to the ped and immediately tried to shirk responsibility by crying "jaywalker".

*I* do think he's riding like an ass hole [sic] and I will travel anywhere I please during business hours... including the Loop, thanks, where I will be making deliveries with my bike and trailer.

If *you* think this is NOT riding like an asshole, you should get a job behind a fucking desk.

I'm going to hop on everything TC said except the delivering stuff in the loop bit.

How the hell can anyone defend this ass hole?
