Dear Chainlinkers,

I am visiting Chicago from London, UK from 23rd July to 6th August and am wondering if anyone could loan me a bike for part or all the time I'm in Chicago? A fairly big ask I know!

It need not be fancy, anything in working order really. Older and basic is good.

I cycle every day in London and have found what a great way it is to get to know the city.
Its my first time in Chicago and I'd really like to be cycling around some of the time I'm there.

I'm visiting the city due to an interest in architecture (Mies van der Rohe in particular) and a travel scholarship from college. The scholarship won't really stretch to cycle hire.

I'm a careful cyclist, and used to busy traffic.

I can leave a (reasonable) cash deposit with the owner. I can bring my own Kryptonite lock with me if necessary.

I'm 6ft and usually ride 56 - 59 cm frames.

In Chicago I'll be staying near Eckhart Park just off West Chicago Ave.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Jonathan,

I think I've got something you could borrow. Send me a message, or email me at d p e r t u z <at> g m a i l

If that doesn't work out, I live a few blocks away from Eckhart Park and have got a spare 57cm fixed-gear (or could be singlespeed) that you're welcome to borrow. kathleen (dot) murphy (at) gmail (dot) com
