The Chainlink

Just a little extra facing for this event:

http://www.thechainlink.org/events/beverly-hills-cycling-classic-1

Racing is normally not one of my interests but I plan to make it down there to support Ken Gray, whom I've had the pleasure of getting to know this past year-- he's one of the organizers.

I don't see it in the listing and the website link is broken, but I believe this is a fundraiser for mental health services.

It's from 5 to 10 PM at 107th/Longwood, which is about where Damen would be if it went through.

I probably will take the Western bus to 79th and switch to the 349 which runs at least 3x/hr.

Here's more info on the event - on the neighborhood side of things. Here's a link for the racing site, which includes a map of the course.

Give me a call when you get down here. I plan to watch the race.
Thanks! Will do . . . I have guests arriving late afternoon/early evening that may screw things up.
It looks like I may have been confusing the charity component with some other event Ken may have told me about.

Howard, maybe a bit screwed up! My only connection with the Beverly Bike Classic is that I enjoy the heck out of it! The Ride For Shelter (a PADS benefit ride) is the altruistic excuse I had to ride. (me and 9 others and great SAG too) We went from Clinton Iowa to the SW PADS shelter the end of June. Great fun. See you tomorrow around 105th or 106th and Longwood!

Uh, thanks, Ken :-)
Sorry my head was apparently somewhere else for the PADS ride. Sounds like it went well?
Ken - That's the area where I usually watch. Will look for you there.

I'll be riding over to watch this. Is there a "better" place to be to enjoy the race? How crowded does it get, and can I sit with my bike somewhere and enjoy the action?

Since I've been enjoying the Tour de France, it'll be kind of cool to see some similar action firsthand!
Anne I didn't see you, and Howard how did I miss you! Even without you guys this was just too much fun! Siorry everyone wasn't here!
Ricardo, we've never met but were you there? Hope you enjoyed it. I've a nice buzz on!
