Pretty decent sense of humor when faced with a ridiculous situation.

Funny movie, but I'd say the odds of Casey Neistat randomly getting a bike lane ticket are next to nil.  Either the setup is fake, or more likely he arranged the ticket with the officer in order to set up the film. 

 

That said, the relationship between the police and cyclists in NYC has always been a bit difficult.  The early critical mass rides there were incredibly confrontational.   And there's been a number of recent ticketing fiascos.  While the DOT and the Mayor's office in the past 8 years has been much more supportive of biking in NYC than in Chicago, the relationship between cops and cyclists in NYC has always been much worse then the relationship here, at least IMO.

 

I posted this somewhere last night. He is a bit literal but proves a good point. Is this what we are to expect with the cycletrack project?
