Baltimore County Council to Vote on Requiring Bike Parking

Ok so it is Baltimore, and it only seems to apply to a particular new development there, and it does not seem to require secure indoor bike parking, but still I think it is a great sign that a major US municipality is on the verge of requiring developers to include bike parking.

Really? Well that makes sense given that Chicago is the GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD*?

*at least in the midwest, not counting the Twin Cities or Madison of course.

It's a ratio as large as 1:10 and as small as 1:2. There is no indoor/outdoor designation in the Chicago Zoning Code, but Chicago was one of the first big cities to require bike parking for all new developments.

... it's not Baltimore, it's Towson, which is in baltimore county... but still more bike parking is always a good thing. I lived in Baltimore for 3 years, and didn't like riding around towson much personally, think too car-centrically developed quasi-suburbia.
