I'm looking for a roommate to share an apartment that's
open August 1. I'm 38, a non-smoker and like things neat
(and like neat things.) You can get more background on me at
http://votewithyourfeetchicago.blogspot.com.
I checked out this very cool apartment in Logan Square the other day.
It's two blocks south of the Logan Blue Line stop on a leafy side street
that is likely to get some cool streetscaping next year that will calm
the car traffic and create green space for a community garden &/or
playground. About a dozen of my bike-y friends live on the block, which
is one of the reasons I want to move there.
The apartment is a nice, sunny two-bedroom with tons of closet space
and an extra little room that would make a good office. It's about to get
nicer as the landlady will be adding new cabinets and doing some other rehab.
There's free laundry, a nice little back yard/garden and a good-size deck
with a pleasant view.
The place is $1200/month, plus utilities, but that includes a parking space
in the back and I don't own a car. My roommate could have the space if
they're willing to pay extra for it, or the landlady might rent it to another
tenant and deduct that from our rent.
It also might be possible to negotiate a lower rent. She's a real nice lady,
a former co-worker of a good friend who's been letting me live at his
building in Garfield Park since I got back in March from biking cross-country.
Please contact me if you or someone you know might be interested and
I'll arrange a time to visit the place together.
