From the NWS

A POWERFUL WINTER STORM WILL AFFECT THE REGION THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY NIGHT BRINGING WET SNOW AND VERY STRONG WINDS. RAIN WILL CHANGE TO WET SNOW FROM WEST TO EAST LATE THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...WITH SNOW CONTINUING INTO THURSDAY EVENING. SNOW COULD FALL HEAVILY AT TIMES WITH ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED...ESPECIALLY NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80. IN ADDITION...VERY STRONG WINDS WILL LIKELY GUST TO OVER 50 MPH AT TIMES VERY LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY EVENING.

Most concerning is the 50 MPH winds blowing snow everywhere and reducing visibility.

Yeah, so the weather reports were bullshit. I totally could have biked home. It's barely snowing and not icy at all. Oh well. :-)

I enjoyed the performance, partic. the Shostakovich and the 1st movement of Tchaikovsky. I have season tickets, so I go regularly. Last week's Bach concertos were wonderful. For some reason I was surrounded by subruban high schoolers.

31sr & Sac. is a city vehicle maintenance facility, which I go to for work from time to time. Got your message, will write later today when I can.

I ended up at the CSO tonight after all.  Scored a 3rd row lower balcony seat for $20.  Enjoyed the show immensely.  The Tchaikowsky is a long buncha nothing but sure does make a great vehicle to hear what a great orchestra can do.  What did you think?

What's at 31st/Sac?

I'll most likely catch the CSO on Saturday night, thanks for the reminder.

I'm still wondering what the hullaballoo is about, but I've been in the house for 45 minutes now. Ride to work was normal. late-morning ride from near northwest to 31st & Sac was normal. Ride back to office from downtown was normal. Ride home was normal. I'll probably take the Blue Line to the CSO tonight instead of riding, but it doesn't seem like an unusual day.

No. I will not be riding tomorrow. It's the weekend after all

What storm? hah! y'mean that damp sub-tropical breeze we had? For me, between 3pm and midnight... all told? i did about ten miles on the new, made-from-scrap chopper bike, "la chuleta".

Yay! Our first, albeit whimpy, storm of the season.

Besides the massive skunk-striping i earned last night... yes... that was a horror show... still... i mean... this is our mayan apocalypse?

Me'h!

The movie was better.

Maybe you should invest in some fenders. :-)

Nope, I'm driving to Georgia tomorrow! I wrote you later this morning....

And how much would plastic add on fenders cost? I'm guessing as much or more than what I paid for a brand new looking 10 year old 6 speed (heaven forbid) Huffy cruiser. What happened to the rest of your bike? Where are the factory aluminum fenders and chain guard?
WOW! We're still here. The Myans were wrong. Damn, I gave away all my worldly possessions including my Huffy cruiser. On the serious side how can people be so gullable???????
Drats! Yesterday I said that I would not be riding today, but I did. What to do? Can I say that I will be riding tomorrow, and then not ride? Would that of set my mistake?

All I know is, it finally felt like winter last night, when my eyeballs got really cold on the bike at 2am. And today it's gorgeous outside! Hooray!!

I rode today, Sunday to my sisters house for dinner and refused a ride in her car. I will ride tomorrow, Monday with B.O.B to get pickled herring, (We're Norwegian) beer and mixed nuts. Gotta have in the shell mixed nuts for the holidays.
14 to 18 MPH! Holy crap! I'm good for 8 to 10 MPH.
