The American Diabetes Association holds one of their Tour de Cure events in conjunciton with Bike The Drive, and they are looking for bike racks they can use for their Bike Valet services that day. They contacted Active Trans and AT wasn't able to help much, so I'm hoping someone may have some ideas!!
Feel free to email me if you have ideas!! wjnedza@yahoo.com
Thanks, Bill Nedza

Sorry, Bill, that I cannot help, but isn't Active Trans providing bike valet themselves?

Working Bikes has no racks sorry. Rather than looking for 'bike racks' which is pretty specific the thing to do seems to be is to use barricades - crowd control being a bigger market. Very outside chance someone in the city (police, city hall) might be helpful.

Yes, they do, but the ADA wanted to provide it as a "personal service" for the cyclists who registered for BTD thru their Tour De Cure event.

From Lee Diamond on this Chainlink thread:
United Rentals. They are a national company and their Chicago location is at 3233 W 36th St. You can reach them at 773-733-4684.
eco-andersonville has some they just purchased as well.
If this need didn't coincide with Bike the Drive, I would have recommended Active Trans. Just giving this a bump in case any of the above leads haven't worked out and you're still looking for more.
Here's a place: http://www.barricades.net/crowd_control_barricades.html
