Yep, he's getting improper lane usage. What the heck? I can only conclude now that it is officially legal to murder anyone in Illinois as long as they are on a bicycle. This defies explanation. I hope they can win a huge civil settlement.

Surprisingly....it may be ObamaCare! As our health care system now evolves, to provide better care for lower-income citizens of all age groups, I think we'll see major unexpected benefits within our society. One of which may be to move more old-folks closer to health care centers where they can be properly treated. And hopefully, "proper treatment" will include curtailing the need for a lot of that driving, where they are a risk to themselves as much as anyone else.
I'm only 70, but I frequently am thankful that I live a pretty good life here in Chicago, without the need to drive much or own a car. With developing cataracts, stiffening joints, and poor night vision I just don't feel as safe a driver as I used to be...as my wife frequently reminds me. None of that bothers me when I bike. But I can't imagine what I'll be like in another 16 years when I'm John Hillyard's age!
