Active Trans Top Ten Stories - Any other bike-related milestones for 2015?

I received an email I from Active Trans and thought I'd share. Do we have any other milestones that may not have been included in this list? Are there a few milestones you'd like to see for 2016?

Here are a few I can think of:

- Cook County campgrounds provide bike camping options near to Chicago

- North Branch Trail is expanding

2015 was a banner year for people who bike, walk and ride transit in the Chicago region.

As you read through this list of our favorite active transportation stories of 2015, we hope you’ll consider supporting our work in 2016 so that we can continue fighting for better transportation options.

There’s much more work to be done to ensure everyone in the city and suburbs has access to a range of transportation options, but in 2015 these 10 stories gave us hope (listed in no particular order).

  1. Chicago passes 100 mile bike lane goal
  2. Divvy expands
  3. Kinzie bike lane stays
  4. Loop Link launches (pictured above)
  5. The 606 and Cal-Sag open
  6. New CTA station opens at Cermak
  7. More than $200M in CMAQ funding goes to transit and bike projects
  8. CTA invests in local bus service
  9. NICTD allows bikes on South Shore Line trains
  10. CTA, Metra and Pace launch Ventra mobile app
