The Chainlink

I am working on turning my farm into a country biking destination.  Cyclists will enjoy fully supported rides, great food, and tent camping (platform wall tents).  We are creating events that go along with our rides that include themes and adventures like kayaking and hiking; workshops that include photography and painting, and yoga and writing retreats.  I am seeking your feedback.

What do you think?  Do you have ideas? What other themes should we host?  What is the down side of hosting events?

Thanks for your input!

Ongoing tent camping for long distance touring?

Small cabin (or room in a barn area) with shower / 4 bunk beds / repair shop?

Where are you located?

I think this sounds pretty awesome. I'd love to know more e.g. location, what lake is near by, etc.

The farm is in Marengo.  One of my favorite rides is to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Its just under 30 miles from the house!  Beautiful area - I'm sure you know!

Maybe different bike themes? Gravel riding, classic road bikes, mountain biking, etc. For me, if I'm going to a bike destination, my aim will be to ride whatever bike(s) I bring.

A few more details, please.

This sounds awesome. I'd love to know location too. It would be rad to have another overnight destination to ride to from the city.

The farm is in Marengo.  I've tried riding it twice last year from the city.  I'm trying to get the most trail that I can.  Both trips it wasn't easy.  Let me know if you have ideas!!

Some beautiful riding around there! I've ridden to Marengo from the Woodstock Metra but never all the way from the city. Have you considered offering a shuttle service from the city? It would be lovely to be able to be picked up, with our bikes, on a Friday afternoon, and brought back on Sunday.

Thanks for your reply.  I'm becoming well aware of the downsides you mentioned.  grrrrr.  I understand some of it, but loathe most of it!!

It is a big concept among RVers too.

They would expect a parking spot.

30A / 50A outlet instead of them running a generator could be an option.
