This is for any of you who may be using 95th St. between the Dan Ryan and Halsted between Monday 7/26 and Monday 8/2.  The other day I was riding to the red line and noticed a sign with a bit of welcome news.

The railroad crossing at 400W, which has been in horrible condition for years, is about to be rebuilt.  They're starting construction on Monday 7/26, so 95th St. will be closed to all traffic at this location starting then.

Of course, if you're riding to/from the red line, you can go around on the sidewalk.  And it's likely to be easier to take this ride during construction, as all the buses will be detoured.

It's only supposed to take a week, and these railroad crossing reconstruction projects usually run on schedule.  (I've seen several of them done near here in the last 4 years.)  Should be good to go by 8/2 if they get it done on time.  Yeah!!!
