The Chainlink

There's been a thread about each of our real jobs, but forget the real jobs... what about your dream job?? If salary, education, training, etc. weren't a consideration, what would you do?

I have two:
1) I would study languages all the time, it would be my full time job. Not to be a translator, but rather to understand how languages work and grow and change.
2) I would be a professional cyclist! Duh. :)

I would love to work in the health/fitness industry. Kinda like a sports physiologist comes to mind. Throw in sports massage for good measure. I would love to lead rides and runs from a town made for exercise An active lifestyle bed and breakfast comes to mind.
My dream job is to be an unemployed G** hooker. Oh, that is my job already, pardon. I guess I wish to go back to being a musician like I was before I started programming.

ah, there's a catch - one of the requirements is previous island care-taking experience.

a showing artist and a maker of awesome things, i.e. knit, sewn, welded, joined, built in anyway. But also, a Professional Reader.
For me it would be flying. Any type of flying would be fine but I would really like to fly cargo. Cargo does not scream if you crash.
if i could get paid well to make my music and keep messengering, i'd be stoked. my last band was able to play out twice a month and still pull in a crowd, and we had just started to make some money before we broke up. i don't need to live spectacularly, but if i could ride my bike and play my guitar and pay rent/eat food i would be a lucky mayng.
I would be a professional rock climber and spend my time traveling the world in search of the best climbs and instructing when i wasn't traveling, and competing, and trying to make rock climbing an olympic sport.
Bumpin' this up to remind people we're still accepting applications. Spread the word and forward on please! Thanks...

Apparently my dream job keeps changing. Today I'd like to open a coffee shop with comfy couches. Except I'm not a morning person so someone would have to do open for me. And I'd have plenty of bike parking. Indoor bike parking.
Learning new languages, exploring local areas by bike, doing photography and other art, playing music, traveling and writing. Hmmm....David Byrne could be my mentor. ;)
