Lake View, Community Area #6 sits 4 miles north of Chicago's Loop. Once a trail path for a number of North American Indian tribes including the Miami, Ottowa and Winnebago, the area was eventually settled by European immigrants who farmed celery, flowers and other crops on the land. In its history, Lake View has been a village, a township, a Chicago suburb, its own city, and eventually a community area of Chicago. The area is also home to a variety of architecturally impressive buildings and homes. Comprised of neighborhoods such as Wrigleyville, Lakeview, and East Lakeview, the area is home to numerous national and city landmarks, and several landmark districts. This combined with an interesting history provide the backdrop for a wonderful bike ride.

Adam and Jared,
It is both. Come on the tour and I will explain in detail, but in short, there are historical uses and present uses in both spellings, one word and two. Some quick examples of places that use one word - City of Chicago, Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce, Lakeview Chamber of Commerce, etc.
Also the most correct earliest use is "Lakeview", since the area was named after the Lakeview House Hotel built in 1854.
Hope to see you at the ride!
You used to see it spelled as two words, now it generally seems to be spelled as one. Not sure when that happened.
It's Lake View. Two words.
Forecast is now cooler than what they were saying--hooray. Rain gear and hot weather--meh!
Looks like "Lee weather" has returned to the Tour calendar.
Sorry I could not go to Oak Park, but really looking forward to this!
aren't you supposed to be at Obituary?
Oh, I'll be Lakeview, but at the Music Box Massacre 8 Music Box of Horrors.
