Description

This is a space for queers and allies to meet and find a cycling community. We love a spectrum of genders, ages, identities, and bikes and welcome you to ride! Wear your glitter, cycling drag, or whatever makes you feel fabulous and fierce.

Pace will be leisurely, and the ride will be 5-10 miles. We aren't setting a route ahead of time, but won't venture too far North or South.

Let's help build a bike scene we want to see in Chicago! Suggestions? Concerns? Want to help? We'd love to hear from you.

Lets talk about ageism and priv/oppression in the bike community were creating and find how wed like to navigate it and get liberated from it! I'm a chicken when it comes to small masses (fyi---it's about traffic, not the closet. LOL). I'd hope this group becomes an inclusive group. I'm an older queer guy who is really tired of age-ism within both the biking and queer communities. Thoughts?

@David. It doesn't conflict with the big ride. I like your idea of also having a presence at the big monthly mass as well though.

Comment by Michael on September 23, 2011 at 2:42am: I've been looking for something like this for awhile. However, I'd prefer to have a presence at the regular monthly mass downtown and/or have our own mass at a time that doesn't compete with the downtown mass. Others' thoughts?
