Thank you hearty seven who made it.  We did indeed find unlimited free quality beer.  Ace, me and Jera also made it to the free Vaudezilla thing nearby, which was pretty terrific.

massup.us functioned well and half the attendees already had the map electronically, making print versions mainly commemorative. Yay! (Dude with the good GPS device usually but not this time, what's your name?)

Anyone who missed it happening upon this, bottom line, NSCM sometimes gets free beer.

I straightened out the route a bit, figure everyone's (all dozen?) ok with staying simple given conditions. Ashland and Damen should be thrilling enough. Found out #3 does charge, $7 but worth it.  Jera+I are going for sure (may even skip #2). Can't afford? Just linger at #2 and hookup later (I should be broadcasting, text "on" to nscm@massup.us to follow.)  Target times: #1 before 8p (or they'll run out of beer), #2 by 9pm (showtime), #3 after 10p, #4 before midnite.

Forecasting cloudy 31F 7SW 82%H at 6pm to 30F 6SW 86%H at 11pm.  C U!

Oh oh and, text "map" to nscm@massup.us

and it should send a copy of this map image back to your phone (if capable of viewing photos and the like).  Do try, new feature, needs testing.  Too cool.

I went ahead and posted this map on MassUp.us - dubbed it "The Hot Ride" - hope that's OK.
If we make it to the first place (3614 N Damen) before 8pm there may still be free beer (and a fire), then two more spots (burlesque & EE) time permitting, then back to Fireside.

Testing if embedding a Google map works...

View NSCM 2010.12.10 in a larger map If not, try this direct link. Draft map hits four free nightspots, in logical order by event hours, under 12 miles in four legs.

Weather seems like it will be plenty warm. I am guessing the Holiday Party will be packed and out of free beer by the time we would all get there. Still might be worth the try...although the Fireside is also fun. Just make it a big circular route?

Forecasting 31F 8SW 82%H at 6pm to 29F 6SSW at 10pm. I suggest somewhere with warm/hot booze, and neither far nor slow.

Jera found
http://chicago.timeout.com/articles/restaurants-bars/70350/best-hot...
And suggests Simon’s Tavern, and Fireside (my prefered of the two).

There is of course also Heartland (and I can show everyone the nearby fence made of bike frames again), and the taps near it (Redline, No Exit, ...), that's all around Lunt.

Personally, Konak's (Clark just south of Foster) is a personal fave, comfy, but maybe no hot drinx.

All of these are too close for a real ride. Maybe do several?

Suggestions?
