George Pastorino started mountain biking in 1997 and immediately became a fan of the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. George will speak about mountain biking and his experience as a volunteer with the International Mountain Bicycling Association’s (IMBA) National Mountain Bike Patrol and it’s work to support recreational mountain biking including the programs for student athletes of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. For a preview check out this video from the Aug. 2019 Palos Meltdown where a team of 14 Patrollers treated dozens of racers and spectators in the medical tent and out on the trails. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgeAoab85EE&t=10s George is President and Mountain Bike Coordinator of the Elmhurst Bicycle Club, Certified Mountain Bike Guide and Skills Instructor, National Mountain Bike Patrol Instructor, Wilderness First Aid Certified, and Certified in CPR and Life Support.
