Route and Description of the ride: This series of rides gets MTC3 off the lake front, off OPT, off the south side and explores ALL the options presented by the Metra Rail lines. We usually meet at one of the Loop Metra Stations and ride to the end of the line. We are adjusting this distance to invite some of our ‘advancing newbies.’ We will ride from Ogilvie Station to the Elmhurst stop (35 minutes on train and 18 miles). We will then ride back to the city via the Illinois Prairie Path to Maywood/Washington Blvd bike lane to the Loop. These rides are a blast and add suburban and rode riding skills. Plenty of opportunities for ‘selfies’, potties and eaties along the way. And if you bonk out, (you won’t, really) just get back on Metra and ride to the Loop.
As we get in better shape later in the season, we take in the FULL Metra rides (30-50 miles one way) but for now just a little18 mile teaser.
HELMETS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL MAJOR TAYLOR CHICAGO RIDES!

For this ride you will need to purchase a $5.50 one-way ticket to Elmhurst unless you already have a Metra pass. Get to the station early to get this done!!
Comment
Unfortunately, the Major Does Metra ride has been canceled this morning due to the condition of the trail. Instead, we have a group meeting for a ride from La Rabida. This ride will depart at 10 am SHARP. All are welcome to join in the fun.
