On Sunday April 25, Big Shoulders Realty presents the second ride in the Chicago Bikexposition 2010 with our partners, the Active Transportation Alliance, the Chainlink and the Chicago Cycling Club. This tour encompasses what most people think of Pilsen, the Heart of Chicago and the Heart of Italy neighborhoods. It is a densely packed area full of small worker's cottages and multitudes of multi-family housing, churches and businesses. The purpose of the research rides will be to learn and document the area in preparation for the Tour of the Lower West Side.
This means a lot of site visits and photo documenting and note taking combined with route planning and scouting for best angles of entry and how to create the most exciting wrap-up of a very interesting section of town in about 15 miles/3-4 hours.
Here are all of the research rides:
Wednesday April 7 from 2 to 5PM
Tuesday April 13 from 5 to 8PM
Sunday April 18 from 11AM to 2PM
Thursday April 22 from 6 to 9PM
