Actually, what I meant by repaving is that the south side of Logan Square Boulevard is entirely newly pressed asphalt; it is the smoothest ride you can get and a pleasure to bike. We will take advantage of that and avoid the North side of the boulevard which is still torn up.

We're too far away to easily scout a route, but I think we'd really prefer a smoother surface next time, if possible. The best solution we've found for going along next to the little guy is rollerblades, and they just don't work if the road is torn up.

Ash, thanks for adding a great detail and opportunity to continue enjoying the neighborhoods activities after the ride...

Meanwhile, is anyone else interested in being a collaborative leader/ride guide for this weekends ride? I have a proposed route that will take advantage of the brand new repaving happening on Logan Square Boulevard, but we are open to any suggestions. What is some new part of Humboldt Park & Logan Square that is worth exploring? Any comments? Ideas welcome... Put out your proposals (by Wed) and we'll discuss and decided by Thursday so we can try a pre-ride of the route on Friday (anyone is welcome to join me for the fun of the pre-ride; I'd love a biking pal or two if you are interested).

On a side note, the Humboldt Park art fair is beginning at noon right after Kidical Mass. It runs from 12-9 at the Boat House on Sacramento between Division and North. We'll be riding down directly if anyone would like to tag along and support some local artists.
