Thanks everyone, we hope you enjoyed the bike and chow! We appreciate all the Chainlink support!
What a day. Great weather. Large turnout. Got to meet a number of Chainlinkers. Got to admire Lisa's new Trucker. Enough said.
Mike and Tricolor, thanks for slowing down long enough to say hello! Saw Duppie twice at Rogers Park. Caught up with Serge and Matthies at Humboldt Park and then at the Festival as it was closing down. So we stopped at a spot in the neighborhood on the way back and Serge made me drink a beer. I had been hoping for root beer. Great day. Thanks for all of the volunteers and especially for the volunteers who painted not just route markings but bright orange paint around the really nasty holes in the streets!
Julie decided not to have a table, so now I am in no rush! Still planning to be at North and State between 6:45 and 7:00. I can wait there for a little bit to see if any of you show up!
Well, we have to talk to Duppie. Just maybe not for 20 minutes. Especially since it is only a water stop. Duppie, how come you only got a water stop? Oh, I know, it is really close to your house! :-)
Serge, Nope! First of all, I cannot ride 57 miles without stopping! More realistic to think I will get there about quarter to one if I start at 7:00 from North and State. I think I will try to start by 6:45 to give myself a little more leeway.
Speed isn't really possible below the water stop in Rogers Park unless all the intersections are going to be closed off. I figure it'll be about six hours for the whole route, though that doesn't include many stops. The Sunday forecast keeps getting hotter, too.
