Hey Folks! Yet again and in this ride's sixth year, we are going to get our wheels rolling for a three day tour through Wisconsin. The ride is in support of the Wounded Warrior Project and we're set to ride for our nation's soldiers. It's a 175-185 mile ride with two camping stops along the way. Camping fees and a donation towards "Wounded Warriors" are required. Riders will receive a black bracelet showing the WWP website and a character trait – Duty, Honor, Courage, Commitment, Integrity, Country, and Service.
THIS RIDE IS NOT A RACE. We get there when we get there, safe and sound, and in time to get a good meal and a good night's rest.
Riders are asked to contact me 2 months to 6 weeks in advance so we can arrange for a pre-ride meeting and planning session.

Typically the ride costs $70, combined with campsites and transportation to O'Hare (downtown Chicago might be available) from the University of Wisconsin student union on the Van Galder/Coach USA bus.

Forgot to add myself to the list here.
So - if you've been watching trail conditions on the Glacial Drumlin, you'll see that three bridges are out. The bridge near London, Wisconsin will be redecked by the time we get there but we'll need to follow the detour shown below to get around the other two outages. I think this is an elegant solution to an unpleasant problem. It gets us into Jefferson for breakfast, perhaps, and then past Aztalan State Park for some sight seeing. We will spend a mile or about 7-10 minutes on County Road B, as opposed to about 4 miles on the same road if we were to take a more direct route. ALSO - the "direct route" I'm speaking of is only 9/10 of a mile shorter.
Thanks Lisa! I followed your suggestion.
A final word on return transportation -
Van Galder says around four or more bikers can get on the same bus together provided it's a single decker (which all have big luggage compartments), regardless of whether we're headed to O'Hare or Union Station. Since advance fares are not refundable, we also can wait to pay at the UW student union to buy our tickets.
Matt,
I read just about everything ;-), but not everyone does. Probably should bump your forum discussion and put the link in for the donations so you get a few more. People might not be looking at the event if they are not going to attend.
Please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project!!!! Use the link to the mirror page to the Chicago to Madison ride:

Van charter is too costly unless we get a sponsor to foot part of the bill. So much for that idea.
Looks like we've got our core group! It should be a great tour this year!!!
