Description

Hey Folks!  Yet again and in this ride's sixth year, we are going to get our wheels rolling for a three day tour through Wisconsin.  The ride is in support of the Wounded Warrior Project and we're set to ride for our nation's soldiers.  It's a 175-185 mile ride with two camping stops along the way.   Camping fees and a donation towards "Wounded Warriors" are required.   Riders will receive a black bracelet showing the WWP website and a character trait – Duty, Honor, Courage, Commitment, Integrity, Country, and Service.

THIS RIDE IS NOT A RACE.  We get there when we get there, safe and sound, and in time to get a good meal and a good night's rest.

Riders are asked to contact me 2 months to 6 weeks in advance so we can arrange for a pre-ride meeting and planning session.

Help raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project:

Plan your trip; tour maps are located here:

Typically the ride costs $70, combined with campsites and transportation to O'Hare (downtown Chicago might be available) from the University of Wisconsin student union on the Van Galder/Coach USA bus.

We should stop by Clark Square park to see if anyone decided to come at the last minute. But I doubt it.

So are we at four or five?  Or more?  The more I see the weather the happier I'm getting.  Temps like today would be nice without the rain, but that would be kind of greedy for late May.

Holy mackerel Ray! That's a nice thought... Would you be staying at the nearest hotel? I'll need to meet with you Friday evening as well.

Hey I am new to the website. Is it possible at this time to attend the event? I haven't had any camping experience though

Please stop by the REI/Whole Foods and get some Cliff Bars or trail mix. The route is semi-urban, so we can forage at places along the way.

Lots of detours; Wisconsin needs to get themselves together.

One thing I've been wondering about.  How are we set for breakfast/lunch/dinner food?  Is there anything we need to bring or are there restaurants along the way?  I was planning to stop by REI this week and take advantage of their Memorial Day sales to buy some of those energy bars that have the texture of warm asphalt.

Koshkonong Creek detour....  according to the 2010 Wisconsin bike map this is the best way to get around it....

Once again, the weather (or God, or Luck, or the Fates) is on our side. Does anyone else want to ride with us?

no. just keep an eye on single decker vs. double decker. single decker buses get us home.

While we can wait to buy tickets until we get to Madison do we need to make any kind of reservations with the bus line ?
