Description

There will be over 20 miles of buffered/protected bike lanes created this year!  So far we have 12 to enjoy! (Thanks SV)  Come celebrate this with a fun ride through most of them and then cap it off with a Beefy Hot Dog from Hot Dougs!

What a way to cap off riding through miles of Buffered Bike Lanes than by 'Buffering' your waist line with hot beefy goodness!

We will start at the Streets for Cycling Plan 2020 Open House meeting and then around 11:00 head on over to Millenium Park to start the ride at 11:30 AM.

This ride will see us travel on the following:

  • new Madison bike lane
  • Kinzie protected bike lane
  • Ride past the new CTA Green Line Morgan stop!
  • Damen Ave bike lane
  • Lake Ave buffered bike lane
  • Franklin Ave buffered bike lane
  • Jackson Blvd buffered bike lane
  • Warren Ave bike lane
  • Ogden bike lane
  • Elston buffered bike lane
  • Roscoe buffered bike lane
  • Campbell buffered bike lane
  • Sooo much to see :)

Hot Dougs closes at 4pm so our 18 mile route will need to be there before hand.  A few park stops in between to get water breaks and stretch out will occur.

See you all at the meeting and then on the ride!

I stand corrected Steven!  We will be traveling on approx. 12 miles of buffered bike lanes.  However the ride will be traveling on the new Madison bike lane and other existing bike lanes for the promise of the future!

Come join us as we hail the advancements made to date and the great strides to be had for cycling in Chicago :)

Also to get some damn fine hot dogs!  Hmmm mmmm Good

Cheers,

Aaron

20 miles haven't yet been installed this year. The page you linked to represents ~20 miles when all is constructed. Wells and 55th haven't begun, and Elston is only partially complete.
